Lasik Demystified
My brother recently underwent Lasik surgery to correct myopia. We initially had apprehensions about how far this surgery would be effective. So I searched the web about it.Then I came to know about the survey conducted by USAEyes , Competence Opinion Relative to Expectation (CORE) patient survey.the Lasik results gave me a good insight into the extent to which this operation is successful. And from the survey I came to know that lasik surgery is SAFE and PREDICTABLE.
But you could question me as to why one should trust this survey... This survey is not from the view point of the medical fraternity but from the view points of the people who themselves have undergone this surgery recently. This survey has a unique structure .The Survey asks the patients to rate the results of the surgery on a scale ranging from "Worse Than" to "Better Than" their expected results. The survey is a non profit initiative. They do not offer Lasik surgery nor do they advertise for it.They are non profit patient advocates.
In short , the CORE survey is one the most credible and reliable sources for information on Lasik refractive error correction surgery.
