Raja's disclosure made suspicion that a DMK Minister alone could not be architect of massive fraud.

Raja's disclosure made suspicion that a DMK Minister alone could not be architect of massive fraud.

Former telecom minister Arun Shourie has stirred up a storm by alleging that a key official in the Prime Minister 's Office had wanted the PMO kept at "arm's length" on the 2G issue.

Shourie was reacting to former telecom minister and 2G accused A Raja's contention in court on Monday[25-7-2011] that he had discussed the 2G spectrum allocation issue with Singh and Chidambaram .Shourie claimed that he was basing his statement on the Prime Minister's file on this issue.

Shourie claimed he was referring to a file noting by the Principal Secretary to the PM on January 15, 2008. Shourie said, "He (the official) wrote that the PM wants this informally shared with the Department Telecom and does not want any formal communications. The PM wants the PMO to be kept at an arm's length."

The "arm's length" reference was presumably to flurry of letters written by stating that the PM had been informed and that he (Raja) had the benefit the advice of the Finance Minister.

Shourie's statement raises a question mark over the denials by Sibal and Chidambaram that only the issue of dilution of stake by Unitech and Swan Telecom were discussed in the presence of the PM, and not any divestment.

Political observers said if Shourie's contention was correct, then there was a question mark over why the PMO wanted to be officially kept at a distance. "This would mean they were aware of Raja's actions," an observer said.

Shourie claimed that the government argument about the Prime Minister being concerned about dilution of equity by the licence-holders and not divesting does not stand.

"If it had been in line with foreign equity policy of the government why has this government issued a show cause notice of penalty to Etisalat for Rs 7,100 crore for violating FEMA?" Shourie asked.

Refuting Mr. Raja's claim that he was only following the NDA policy
on spectrum allocation while dealing with 2G allocation, Mr. Shourie said: "He is completely wrong in saying he was following NDA policy.
I can show he was not following any policy, procedure or principle."

"It is a very interesting point (fist-come-first-served-basis). It is a red herring shown to the public. The issue is that (former telecom minister) A Raja made money irrespective of whether it was a first-come-first-served policy or not.

Raja's disclosure in the court on Monday [25-7-2011] has not only given fresh ammunition to the Opposition to target the PM and Chidambaram, but
deepened the suspicion that a DMK Minister alone could not have been
architect of such a massive fraud.

Instead of pointing Prime Minister, Perambalur Raja might have explained, how he becomes multimillionaire?

Instead of pointing Prime Minister, Perambalur Raja might have explained, how he becomes multimillionaire?

Former Telecom Minister A. Raja on Monday defended himself against corruption charges in the 2G scam, saying he had not done anything wrong and was merely following the policies pursued by his predecessors and the NDA government.

The 47-year-old DMK MP pleaded before Special CBI Judge O.P. Saini that there was nothing wrong in his decision of not auctioning 2G spectrum as he had "implemented only what I have inherited."

Senior Advocate Sushil Kumar, appearing for Mr. Raja, said if Mr. Raja is being prosecuted for following a certain policy then all Telecom Ministers since 1993 are liable to be prosecuted as they too followed the same policy.

"If policy pursued by me was wrong, then all former Telecom Ministers since 1993 should also be in jail with me (Raja)," the counsel said while opposing framing of charges against Mr. Raja.

He said, "As Telecom Minster Arun Shourie distributed 26 licences while Dayanidhi Maran distributed 25 and I (Raja) distributed 122 licences. Numbers make no difference, however, it is to be noted that none of them auctioned the spectrum.

"If they had done no wrong, why am I being questioned? Let them deny that they have not done what I did. I was just following the 2003 Cabinet decision that is not to auction 2G spectrum. If I am following the law, I am not liable to be prosecuted. Infact, I should be rewarded."

Raja also dragged the names of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram. He said the PM was aware of the telecom decisions and even challenged Manmohan Singh. It is not known, who has advised Raja in the D.M.K. party to show his finger against P.M.

Prime Minister on the belief that his cabinet Ministers will function according to the oath they have taken, he is signing all the papers. The oath taken by the Ministers is “that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter.”

But Raja failed in his Minister’s duty and now pointing out fingers against others and that will not help him. Instead of pointing Prime Minister, Perambalur Raja might have explained how he becomes multimillionaire?

No body can stop the Rule of Jayalalitha for another 20years. Engal Baratham S.V.Ramani.

Jayalalithaa campaigned at Madurai on 04-4-2011, in Ayyar Bungalow, and vowed to uproot rowdyism from Madurai. “Why does Alagiri need police protection when it is the people who need protection against him? She asked. Madurai has become a haven for rowdies,” she said. “Vote for the AIADMK to make Madurai a tourist destination as it rightfully should be,” she added. What Jayalalithaa told to the Madurai people, is carried out to-day to make Madurai as a tourist centre.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and President of the ruling DMK, Karunanidhi, has challenged the Opposition AIADMK-led Front to name the Chief Ministerial candidate for the April 13 Assembly Elections.

Mr Vijayakanth, who was campaigning for the candidates of the AIADMK-led Front for the April 13 Assembly polls at Erode on 2-4-2011, said, ''the AIADMK-led Front will sweep the polls and Ms Jayalalithaa will become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and work for the welfare of the people. What Vijayakanth told is hundred percent true and now Jayalalithaa is our Chief Minister.

Madurai: Union chemicals and fertilizers minister MK Alagiri on
18-7-2010 Sunday predicted the downfall of the AIADMK, claiming that the opposition party would cease to exist after the assembly election due next year. Now What Alagiri told was proved to be for his own DMK party only.

Attack pandi who was already involved in setting fire to Madurai Dinakaran News paper office and caused death to three innocent workers, is now in judicial custody along with two others.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa during her assembly election campaign made land grabbing a major plank, alleging that powerful DMK men were involved in it and vowed to crush it.

Special police wing was now established in Tamilnadu to find out the culprits in land grabbing complaints. So far Police has received 1449 complaints.

A section of people in D.M.K., itself tells Karunanidhi to resign from his party post and work as a guiding leader like Kamaraj. But the family people who were guided by Karunanidhi were involved in scam cases and counting the bars in jail. It is now a big question, whether his party men will follow his guidance.

Tamil Nadu people will never again elect Karunanidhi or his party members to rule the country. At present the peoples are having tremendous faith in Jayalalitha and they will elect her only as Chief Minister for the next 20 years.

No body can stop the Rule of Jayalalitha for another 20years.

Serial Blasts hits not only Mumbai, but several crores of Indians heart.

Serial Blasts hits not only Mumbai, but several crores of Indians heart.

Serial blasts struck Mumbai on 13-7-2011 evening, less than three years after the 26/11 terrorist attacks of 2008. The three blasts, in sequence, were timed at 6.30 pm, 6.45 pm, and 7 pm IST, and targeted in that order Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and the Kabutarkhana area of Dadar West. Zaveri Bazaar, centre of the jewellery industry, is adjacent the iconic Mumbadevi temple from which the city derives its name; both Zaveri Bazaar and Kabutarkhana were also targeted in the 1993 serial blasts.

No other city in the world has been the tragic target of as many serial terror attacks and bombings as Mumbai: 1993, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2008 and now July 13, 2011.

On 13-7-2011 Wednesday evening, three serial bomb blasts in the span of 12 minutes ripped through three of the busiest hubs in the city — Zaveri Bazar, Opera House and Dadar — at rush hour, killing 18 people and injuringmore than 100. The first explosion was at 6.54 pm at Zaveri Bazaar, followed by another at Opera House a minute later. The third explosion was at 7.06pm outside Kabutarkhana, a few metres away from the western side of Dadar railway station. This is the third terror attack at Zaveri Bazar.

The explosives with timer devices were kept on or near vehicles at Opera House and Zaveri Bazar while at Dadar a bus stop was the target. The police said the three locations, two of which were ‘khau gallis’, had been chosen for maximum impact. Police commissioner Arup Patnaik said it was a terrorist attack.

While the Mumbai police have not named any outfit responsible for the blasts, sources say that it could be the handiwork of a banned outfit, the Indian Muslims [Mujahideen ](IM), which recently formed a group, called the 313 Squad and has been recruiting youngsters to it.

Due to the invasion of Muslims to India from tenth centaury the immemorial systems, rule and customs of Indian people were subjected to a rude shocks. Mohamed Ghazni came to Hindustan in 1018 and from the Matura temple he gained vast treasure having smashed to pieces immense idols of gold and silver. During 1025-26 he captured Somnath in Gujarat and killed several thousands of Hindus. In its costly Temple to the dumb amazement of its protectors he sacked the place carrying on to Ghazni the famous golden gates of the temple and treasure worth one million pounds sterling.

Even to-day the spirit of the foreign policy of Pakistan was not even ideological. It was purely anti-Indian just like the Muslim rulers. Pakistan repudiated its own slogan of peace talk which its leaders had been shouting for over a decade in pursuit of anti-Indian objectives. Our Prime Minister giving monetary compensation to the victims is only a temporary consolation. He must take stringent action in removing the Pakistan extremist activities in India.

Gandhijis dream of Hindu, Muslim unity should not go as a dream only. Serial Blasts hits not only Mumbai, but several crores of Indians heart.

Whether Tamil Nadu Police will consult Karnataka Police on Actor Ranjitha Video?

Whether Tamil Nadu Police will consult Karnataka Police on Actor Ranjitha Video?

Actor Ranjitha has filed a complaint with the police commissioner against Sun Network, Tamil daily Dinakaran and magazine Nakkeeran for allegedly morphing and telecasting videos that showed her in compromising positions with god man Nithyananda. Without naming anyone, she said some people tried to blackmail her.

She wanted the government to take stringent action against these media houses. “They threatened me saying that if I come to Chennai I will be arrested. While a newspaper in Britain is condemned for hacking telephones, here, in the name of investigative journalism, they have placed video cameras inside an ashram and yet no action has been taken,” she said.

When asked about the delay in filing the complaint, the actor said she did not believe that the previous government would take action against the accused. “The change in the government has given me the courage to come out and demand action. Ranjitha told reporters at a hotel in the evening, hours after she met the police commissioner.

Nithyananda, a saint’s pervert activities have been caught up in the camera, the time he was indulged in sexual activities with some actress.

Sun TV has broad castled thro’ a video clip on 2-3-2010 and every half an hour this was broad castled by Sun TV throughout the world. Karnataka CID’s Deputy IGP Charan Reddy said. The CD was sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory Hyderabad for analysis where it was found to be authentic, he said. “The video footage is genuine. It is un-tampered and there is no indication of alteration in the video.

Swami Nithyananda was arrested for rape and other criminal charges, got bail on 11-6-2010. The Karnataka High Court granted conditional bail to him and his close disciple Swami Bhaktananda.

Now that Actor Ranjitha has submitted her petition on 12-7-2011 to the Commissioner of Police, Chennai and the question that remains is whether the Tamil Nadu police will take into consideration the findings of the Karnataka police.

Any news agency can only publish news or videos, submitted by the public, based on the belief that the content submitted is genuine and true and therefore they cannot be held responsible for their veracity.

I support neither Kalanidhi Maran nor Ranjitha. And, I believe that if the video is proved to be a fake, the only people who can be punished are those responsible for shooting this video.

Let us hope if the truth will come one day the people will feel happier.

Maran, who succeeded Shourie, refused licences to Sivasankaran’s Aircel.

Maran, who succeeded Shourie, refused licences to Sivasankaran’s Aircel.

Union Textiles minister Dayanidhi Maran put in his papers on Thursday (7-7-2011), yielding to his removal over the CBI’s probe into allegations that he, as telecom minister, arm twisted the promoter of mobile service provider Aircel to sell out to Malaysian telecom firm Maxis.

Maran submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister, calling on him in the afternoon just after the meeting of the Union Cabinet. This is the second time that Maran has quit the UPA government, having earlier been withdrawn from the Cabinet in 2007 following a feud with the Karunanidhi clan.

Maran’s resignation contrasts sharply with that of Raja’s. Unlike the jailed former telecom minister, who had to be removed out of the government following the comptroller and auditor-general’s damning indictment, Maran resigned without a nudge from the Congress.
Dayanidhi Maran will be questioned soon by the CBI in connection with his alleged role in coercing former Aircel chief C Sivasankaran to sell his stake to a Malaysia-based group, agency sources said on 7-7-2011Thursday.

C Sivasankaran’s Aircel applied for licenses in 10 circles nationwide in 2003. Telecom minister Arun Shourie granted 7 in March 2004. Maran, who succeeded Shourie, refused licences for remaining 3 circles.

Sivasankaran told the Central Bureau of Investigation that the Marans were in broadcast and DTH. They feared competition and therefore didn’t grant him UAS (unified access services) license

Sivasankaran sold his stake in Aircel to Maxis in 2006. “The gentleman (Siva) had been knocking at various doors, but was left with no choice but to sell his shares to a Malaysian firm,” the CBI told the Supreme Court. Maxis is owned by Lankan Tamil T Ananda Krishnan, said to be close to Maran

Within 6 months of Maxis takeover, Aircel applications were fast-tracked. Licenses were issued in December 2006, even before payments were made within 3 months, a Maxis subsidiary invested Rs 600cr in Sun DTH, owned by Dayanidhi’s brother Kalanithi

Maran will be quizzed on the allegations leveled by Sivasankaran and spectrum policy changes made during his tenure during UPA-I, the sources said.

We have to wait and see, whether Maran is guilty or not?

Royal family members of Travancore dusting sand off their feet when they emerge from the shrine.

Royal family members of Travancore dusting sand off their feet when they emerge from the shrine.

Thiruvananthapuram Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple’s glittering gems are valued and tagged; it’s not just the diamonds that shine but also the royal family of the erstwhile princely state of Travancore.

It’s an ode to the family’s unflinching devotion and
integrity that not a penny has gone missing from the bil lions stored in the cellars of the centuries-old shrine ad ministered by the royals.

What makes the family’s story vis-à-vis the temple all the more compelling is tha the rulers always knew of the riches, yet never touched them. “The riches are mentioned in the book “Prad hanapetta Mathilakom Records” (Important Mathilakom Records) compiled by acclaimed Malayalam poet

Ulloor S Parameswara Iyer and published in 1941. They also figure in the “Kottaram” (Palace) manual which runs into 12 volumes,” says noted historian M G Sasibhushan “These records refer to the sacred cellars from which treasure is being dug out.”

Observers talk of the symbolic significance of the practice of royal family members dusting sand off their feet when they emerge from the shrine. “It was meant to con vey that the family members would not take home or misappropriate even a speck of sand belonging to Padmanabha,” they say. In fact, the present head, Uthradom Thiruna Marthanda Varma, religious ly follows the rule of paying of Rs 151 and 55 paise to the temple if he fails to make it to the shrine on any day.

“Though the kingdom of Travancore lapsed in 1949 following the Instrument of Accession with the Union of India, the management of the temple remained with the royal family by virtue of a covenant.

The family, which ruled over erstwhile Travancore has had a long lineage of vi sionary rulers. In fact, it wa a bold move by the first Marthanda Varma in 1750 that inextricably bonded the temple and the palace. The king donated the wealth of the kingdom to the deity Padmanabha (Lord Vishnu) an ruled the state as “Padmanabha Dasa” (servant of Padmanabha).

Some important names i the family are Swathi Thirunal (1813-1846), leg endary Carnatic musician who promoted English education and the last king Chithira Thirunal Bala Rama Varma (1912-1991), who abolished the death sentence making Travancore the first territory in India to do so. The last king issued the landmark Temple Entry Proclamation in 1936 doing away with the ban on “untouchables” entering temples.

Our present politicians must follow the footstep of Travancore rulers in maintaining Temple properties.

Christianity and Islam in India.

Christianity and Islam in India.

The first serious attempt to propagate Christianity among the Muslims of India appears to have been made during the reign of Akbar. At his invitation representative of all religions assembled at Royal Court at Agra.

More than 20years later there appeared the ranks of missionaries in India an advocate of quite another type. This was the redoubtable Dr.Carl Pfander, a German missionary who had been expelled from Fort Shusha, in Georgia by Russian Government.

Dr. Pfander joined the staff of the C.M.S. in Agra about the year 1835, and in course of time came to be looked upon as the champion of Christianity in controversy with Muslims. In his books he defends the integrity of the Scriptures, explaining the leading doctrines of the Bible and refutes the claims of Muhammad to be the apostle of God and of the Quran to be the word of God. Two other books written by him require brief notice [1] Tariq-ul-Hayat, [2] The way of life, Christianity these deals with sin, its nature and Consequence and explains the way of salvation.

This eventually took the form of public debates carried over for a period of three years, in the city of Agra. It is our desire that all people living in India irrespective of their religion must live as Indian and safe guard the welfare of our country.

Viralminda Nayanar. விறன் மிண்ட நாயனார்.

Viralminda Nayanar. விறன் மிண்ட நாயனார்.

Viralminda Nayanar was born in Sengunru, a hilly place. He was a staunch devotee of Lord Siva. To him worship of Siva Bhaktas was equal, if not even superior to the worship of Lord Siva Himself. He felt that no one could get Siva’s grace without first worshipping Siva Bhaktas, and that he who worships even the Siva Lingam with all faith and devotion, would not attain salvation if he insults Siva Bhaktas. Daily he used to visit the temple. Before worshipping the Lord, he used to worship the Siva Bhaktas who might be found there.

He left Sengunru on a pilgrimage and came to Tiruvarur. One day when he was worshipping the Lord, Sundaramurthi Nayanar came to the temple. Sundarar by-passed the Bhaktas who were in temple and went into the sanctum sanctorum to worship the Lord. This upset Viralmindar, who was observing this. He could not tolerate this insult to His Bhaktas. He said to Sundarar: ‘You have insulted the Siva Bhaktas. By this act you have rendered yourself unfit to remain in the holy circle of Siva Bhaktas. Hence, you are excommunicated from this circle.’ He added further: ‘And, Siva, for having so thoughtlessly accepted such improper worship at your hands, He, too, shall be regarded as an outcaste from the divine fold.’ So firm was he in his conviction that he could thus ‘reprimand’ God Himself! In fact, it was Siva Himself Who spoke through him to instruct His Bhaktas in the proper attitude they should have towards His Bhaktas.

Sundarar immediately understood Viralmindar’s inner Bhav towards the Bhaktas as well as towards Lord Siva, and prostrated before him. He then sang a Padigam praising him. The Padigam melted Viralmindar’s heart so much that he greeted Sundarar and said: ‘Your mind is well established in the service of Siva Bhaktas. You have got sincere devotion to them.’ Lord Siva was greatly pleased with Viralmindar’s great steadfastness in his devotion to Siva Bhaktas. Thus had the Lord revealed the great glory of the Bhakta. He was then elevated to the blessed plane of the Siva Ganas where the Lord made him leader of the Ganas. Glory to such Bhaktas!

Maiporul Nayanar. மெய்ப்பொருள் நாயனார்.

Maiporul Nayanar. மெய்ப்பொருள் நாயனார்.

Maiporul Nayanar was a pious king. He ruled over the hill tribes of Sethi. He was chivalrous and brave. He fought many battles and was always victorious.

He was well versed in the Agamas. He was an ardent devotee of the Lord. Nayanar’s fame soon spread far and wide. This evoked the jealousy of Muthanathan, the king of the neighbouring state. He collected a big army and attacked Nayanar several times; but he was repeatedly defeated. So, Muthanathan resorted to foul-play. One day, he disguised himself as a Siva Yogi (for he knew that Nayanar had supreme devotion to Siva Bhaktas) and entered the palace at night. The gate-keepers did not question him, but allowed him to proceed. Dathan, the faithful and intelligent servant of Nayanar, was guarding the bedroom in which the king was sleeping. When the Siva Yogi approached the bedroom, Dathan tried to dissuade him from disturbing the king’s sleep; but the Yogi refused to listen, saying: ‘I have some secret Shastra to teach the king. I cannot wait.’ So, Dathan had to allow the Yogi to enter the bedroom of the king, though he was a little suspicious. Nayanar’s wife got up and, finding a Siva Yogi in the room, quickly awakened her husband. The Siva Yogi told the king that the Shastra was a great secret, revealed by the Lord Himself, and that only the king was entitled to hear it. At once the king sent even the queen away and prostrated before the Yogi, ready to receive the secret. At that moment, the Siva Yogi, who was none else than the jealous king Muthanathan, quickly stabbed Nayanar on his back, with a knife he had kept hidden. At that time, the shrewd Dathan, as he entered the room, found the king on the floor in a pool of blood and Muthanathan with a knife in his hand. He was ready to strike down Muthanathan, when the dying Nayanar said: ‘Datha, he is our man. He has the appearance of a Siva Yogi and so must be honoured as one. Do not harm him. Kindly escort him to the borders of our kingdom, and see that he is unharmed.’ Thus, Muthanathan was safely escorted out of the kingdom. And, Dathan hastened back to the palace to convey this news to the dying king who was eagerly waiting for it.

As soon as Dathan conveyed the news to the king, the Nayanar called all his Ministers and relatives to his bedside, and spoke to them as follows: ‘It is our duty to serve the Bhaktas. They must be honoured and worshipped at all times and under all circumstances. With these words, he closed his eyes and meditated on Lord Siva.

Lord Siva appeared before Nayanar and blessed him as follows: ‘I am immensely pleased with your cosmic love and your unquestioning devotion to My devotees. Even in a murderer you saw me. You are, therefore, fit to reach the Highest Abode which even the Devas cannot hope to reach. You will soon come to My Abode.’ With these words the Lord disappeared: and Maiporul Nayanar (whose very name meant ‘one for whom God was the sole reality’) also attained His Abode.
